Before anything else, we ask where your information goes. Most everyday AI use — journaling, drafting, organizing your own notes — never needs to leave your computer.

Tools like Ollama let an ordinary laptop run a capable AI model with no subscription, no account, and no internet connection required. Free is not the compromise here — it's the default.

Some jobs genuinely need a bigger model. We'll show you how to use one deliberately, sparingly, and without an unpleasant surprise on a bill.

Do this tonight, in one phone call
Agree on a code word with anyone who might call you in an emergency. Something odd, never written online, memorized by everyone. If a frightening call comes, ask for the word first. The voice can be copied. The word cannot be guessed.
